Increase Comment Approvals
By Larry Westfall
This may seem like a no-brainer to you but getting your blog comments approved is not as easy as it used to be. A few years back, you could post a comment to a blog and it was automatically approved. But, today, with all of the spam comments, most blog owners now moderate their comments. This means that they manually have to approve each and every comment. At most blogs, after you submit your comment, you will see "Comments are waiting moderation". It is just as easy for a web site owner to click on Delete as it is to click on Approve and you want your comments approved. The main reason that you want your comment approved is that you used your keyword or phrase as your name and included a link to your web site. This anchor text will help increase your search engine ranking. So, how do you increase your chances that your comment will get approved? Easy. Just follow my simple steps. 1. Read the article or blog post. At least give it a quick skim to determine what the post is about. 2. Make a relevant comment. Don't just say "Great Blog" or "Thanks for the info". These types of comments will get deleted in a heartbeat. 3. Ask a question. This usually gets an approval and an answer so you will want to return to this site in a couple days to see if there is anything else for you to add to the webmaster's answer - maybe a link directly to one of your other pages along with a "thank you" for the answer. 4. Agree with the author. Some writers have thin skin and don't like comments that oppose their opinion. Constructive criticism is fine, just don't tell the blog owner that he is totally wrong or he will most likely delete your comment. 5. Some blog owners still automatically approve their comments. Keep a record of these especially if you have more than one web site. You will be able to come back in a couple days and comment again using a different name or post a comment to a different article. 6. Don't spam the comment block. Avoid putting links in the comment block. Only use the Site/Link box to put the link to your web site. 7. Don't just copy and paste the same comment to numerous blogs. Take a couple minutes to write a relevant comment of a few sentences. It doesn't take that long. 8. Look at the other comments that have already been posted and refer to one of them agreeing or disagreeing with the other commenter. 9. Find blogs using the plugin called KeyWordLuv. These are keyword friendly pages where you put your name@keyword for your name. Most of these sites also use the CommentLuv plugin which will retrieve your latest blog post and include that with your comment. 10. Vary your name. I have a web site where I am a hotel affiliate for hotels in Pattaya, Thailand. So, my name can be Pattaya Resort, Pattaya Resorts, Pattaya Hotels, Pattaya Hotel, Pattaya Accommodations, or just Pattaya. I usually focus on one until it moves up the search engine rankings and then concentrate more on another. There you have it. Now go out and find some blogs that have Dofollow links, and comment away. Avoid using scripts that spam comments. Take the time to manually write a relevant comment and watch your site move up in the search engines and your traffic increase. This won't happen overnight but if you post a few comments (or more) on a daily basis, you will see movement. Remember that each approved comment gives you a one-way link back to your site which is a vote of approval to the search engines.

As always, an excellent blog with great information. I screened it today. Thanks for all your help. I did go to MTurk and am in the process of writing a blog about my experience.
Man, I will post a link to that intel at APSense, so many people put 2-words comments
On a WordPress blog, it takes on a few small settings to make sure not all comments are approved, only those the blog admin considers ok. The Akismet plug-in is reliable in making sure there aren't too many spam comments.
