Mukdahan Night Market By Larry Westfall You have not lived until you go to a night market in Asia - especially the night markets of Thailand. There are goods for sale but the main reason to go to the night market is for food. Many people work during the day so this is the time for them to go out shopping for food to take home to prepare for dinner or to go out and have dinner outdoors. The Mukdahan Night Market is on a small street and is teeming with food vendors starting at about 1600 and going until about midnight. It is a great place to get fresh fruits and vegetables and lots of variety of barbecued items. The sights, sounds, and smells cannot be properly described with words or even with photos. You have to go and experience it for yourself. So, if you are ever in Asia, whether it be Thailand, Taiwan, Korea, or Japan, ask the local folks where the nearest night market is and bring your camera and your appetite. Larry Westfall is a retired expat living out his golden years in Khon Kaen, Thailand. He enjoys riding his mountain bike for daily exercise and looking for treasure with his metal detector .
