Promote Your Online Business Offline

Most online businesses overlook promoting their website offline. Here are a few free or cheap ways to get the word out about your website. 1. Bumper sticker. Get one printer up and put it on your car. Get a bunch printed up and either give them away or give them to your customers when they sign up at your web page. 2. Calendar. I did one of these yesterday. This can be given away online and/or offline. Templates abound on the Internet and you can use Photoshop or even Microsoft Word to create your calendar. Add a relevant photo, print them out and give them away. Download my Thailand calendar for free. 3. Business cards. Add your website URL to your business card. Don't have a business card? Again, templates for Microsoft Word and Publisher are on the Net and blanks can be purchased at any office supply store. 4. Stationery. Put your link on your letters and also on your envelopes. Maybe that bill you sent to the electric company will generate some visitors. 5. Tattoo. Get a tattoo with your URL. Just kidding - but others have done it. 6. Posters and Billboards. Check local laws first. Where I now live, we have advertisements on almost every light pole and every bare space of land. 7. Bulletin Boards. Yes, people still read the old-fashioned bulletin board outside of your local grocery store. 8. Placards and Fliers. Easy to make and print and pass out to local businesses to display in their front window. 9. Pens and key-rings. These can be purchased in bulk for pennies apiece. 10. T-shirts. If you have someone locally that does silk screening, you can have T-shirts made for little more than the actual price of a shirt from the store. You can also give these away as gifts to your online visitors. I am sure that there are more ways to market your website without being online but the 10 that I listed should get you thinking about marketing your site offline too.
