Seven Freebies Everyone Should Own

Here are seven free tools that I use on a regular basis. Give them a try and you may find that they are better than the more expensive, similar products. They are all designed to be time savers and since they are free, they are money savers too. 1. Notepad ++ is a much more efficient text editor than the Microsoft Notepad that comes with most computers. 2. If you can't afford, or don't like Microsoft Office, there is a free alternative - OpenOffice . You can get it free and then choose to install the entire package (with word processor, spreadsheet, database, presentations, and graphics. You can also output files in PDF format. 3. I found this free video editing package when I was trying to edit a video shot sideways. You can just download specific, individual solutions, or the whole shooting match at DVDVideoSoft . 4. Another product that is expensive and has a huge learning curve is Photoshop. An excellent substitute that you will find very easy to use and has lots of functionality is Photoscape . I use this primarily to straighten out crooked photos and also to try out some different filters on my photos. 5. I take a lot of photos and the sizes are too big for my blog, so I use Pixresizer . This one is great for doing batch resizing and it is also great if you only have one photo to resize. You just select the folder and designate an output folder, pick your new size, and click "OK". In a matter of seconds, all your photos will now be resized. 6. I use Replace Text when I need to make a change across multiple pages. For example, if I wanted to change the copyright date for my web site and it had 200 pages, as long as they are all in the same folder, I can change the text on every page and then reload. This comes in handy when I want to update links or text. 7. Last, but not least, 7-zip is a better compression/decompression tool than what is supplied for free along with your operating system. I use it all the time to modify epubs. You may have heard of some or all of these, and may even have installed some on your computer. I find these better, faster, and easier to use than the similar products that cost money. Hope they can help you out too.
